There are moments when life feels unsettled, when things are shifting around you, even if no one has fully explained what’s coming next. You can sense change in the air. Things look different. Familiar rhythms feel disrupted. And your mind starts racing ahead, trying to protect your heart from what might happen.
I’m living in one of those moments right now.
I’ve walked through seasons of transition before, seasons where everything seemed fine on the surface, but behind the scenes, uncertainty crept in quietly. I remember what it felt like to trust the wrong thing, to assume stability where there wasn’t any, and to believe I had to hold everything together on my own. That experience shook me deeply. It left a mark. And now, standing on the edge of another unknown, I can feel those old fears trying to resurface.
But this time is different.
Not because the situation is clearer, it isn’t.
Not because I suddenly have answers, I don’t.
But because I know Who is holding me.
John 1:5 tells us, “And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” Darkness doesn’t get to decide the outcome. Darkness doesn’t overpower the light. Darkness doesn’t get the final word.
What I’m learning, oh so slowly, is that worrying about what’s coming only drains the strength I need for today. The future will arrive whether I stress over it or not. And when it does, Jesus will already be there. He won’t forget me. He won’t abandon me. He won’t suddenly decide I’m on my own now. He never has, and He never will.
The light of Christ isn’t fragile. It doesn’t flicker when circumstances change. It doesn’t dim when systems shift or plans fall apart. His light is steady, faithful, and constant, even when everything else feels uncertain.
Today’s truth nugget is simple, but anchoring: When life feels unstable, the light of Jesus remains unshaken.
I don’t have to see the full picture to trust the One who does. I can breathe. I can release control. I can choose peace, not because everything is resolved, but because He is present. And His light is already shining where I can’t yet see.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for being light when everything feels unclear. Thank You for holding me steady when change feels overwhelming. Help me release the weight of tomorrow and stay anchored in Your presence today. Remind me that You are faithful, that You do not forget Your people, and that darkness has no authority over Your light. I trust You, even here. Amen.
