For Good | Romans 8:28

Romans 8:28 is one of those verses that holds us together when life feels frayed around the edges: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

Often, we quote this verse quietly, holding onto it like a lifeline. Other times, we whisper it through tears, hoping our hearts will catch up to the truth our lips are speaking. But notice what Paul says: “We know.” Not “we hope,” not “we guess,” not “we wish.” We know

This is not blind optimism, it’s anchored confidence in God’s character. And yet, “all things” is a bold phrase. It includes the beautiful and the broken. The things we prayed for and the things we never wanted. The victories and the valleys. The answered prayers and the confusing seasons.

But the promise isn’t that all things are good, it’s that God works all things together for good. Like a master artist blending colors that seem too harsh, too dark, or too messy on their own, God weaves every thread of your life into something purposeful.

Genesis 50:20 echoes this truth: “You meant evil against me; but God meant it for good…” He doesn’t waste pain. He redeems it. Sometimes we can see God’s goodness right away. Other times, it takes months… or years… or the perspective of looking back to realize He was at work the whole time.

Here’s today’s truth nugget: When you can’t see the good yet, trust the God who promised it.

Your story is not shaped by chaos; it is held by purpose. Every season is filtered through His love. Every moment is woven into His plan.

Nothing is wasted.

Nothing is random

Nothing is outside His reach.

What God begins, He finishes and what He allows, He transforms.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for working all things together for good, even when I don’t understand. Help me trust Your purpose, rest in Your timing, and believe that every piece of my story is held in Your hands. Amen
